Robert T. Leahy
Rob joined the firm in 2024, and he focuses his practice on estate and wealth transfer tax planning, and trust and estate administration. Rob also has experience with charitable planning and philanthropic giving for high-net-worth clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Rob worked in the general counsel’s office at Northeastern University, where he focused on major gifts and grants to the university for sponsored research and similar strategic initiatives. He then worked at a Boston law firm where he specialized in non-profit practice, including organizing new charities for high net worth clients, charitable giving, and related charity compliance and operational matters.
Rob’s path to estate and tax planning began with a practice in government contracts, which shares similar regulatory and compliance complexity to estate and tax planning. Rob started his legal career on active duty in the Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps before working as a government contracts attorney within the government and at private law firms in Washington, D.C.
Rob earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Norwich University, summa cum laude, a law degree from Pepperdine University, and an LLM in Taxation from Georgetown University, Dean’s List and with Distinction.
Rob is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts. Rob is co-chair of the Boston Bar Association’s Tax-Exempt Organizations Section, and sits on the board of the North Bennet St. School.
